PATT TIEMEIER
PATT TIEMEIER
Having said that, you can probably guess that I’ve pretty much been an optimist all my life! Actually, if you are a visual artist, you HAVE to be, or you would quit early on!
Although I have been an artist and an art teacher for over 30 years, my love of art goes back to early childhood. I was actively drawing at an young age. My mother and a neighbor, who was an art teacher, ran a creative based pre-school in our basement in the early 50’s!
Since graduate classes in textiles in the 70’s, I have worked primarily with weaving and fabric appliqué, with some additional experiences with free-form crochet and paper-making. Check out the “Faces of the World” and “Church Banners” Galleries for textiles works.
Recently, I have returned to pencil drawing as a means of expression, primarily focusing on portraits of animals and people, either monochromatic grayscale or using colored pencils. Explore the “Pet Portraits” and “People Portraits” Galleries to see examples.
